Crock Pot Cheeseburger Soup

Made with hamburger, cheese, carrots, potatoes, celery, onion, bacon, sour cream and jalapeno; This creamy flavorful soup is comfort food at its best!

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • ¼ cup all purpose flour
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 cup carrots (shredded)
  • 4 medium potatoes (about 1 pound, cubed small <1 inch)
  • 1 large onion (diced)
  • 1 cup celery (diced)
  • 1 ½ Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 jalapeno (finely diced, (optional))
  • 12 ounces Velveeta cheese (cubed)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 4 slices bacon (cooked and chopped (optional))
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until no pink remains, about 6-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Meanwhile, mix the chicken broth and flour together in a large measuring cup.
  • Place the cooked hamburger, garlic, carrots, potatoes, onion, celery, Worcestershire sauce, milk, paprika, and jalapeno in the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  • Pour the chicken broth over the meat and stir.
  • Turn on high for 3 hours or low for 5 hours.
  • When the potatoes are tender, add the Velveeta cheese and allow to melt.
  • Stir in the sour cream and bacon. Taste and season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve with garlic bread or waffle fries.


Serve with waffle fries.
This can also be cooked in a pan on the stove top for a quicker meal.
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
You can freeze this soup to serve for later. Place in an airtight, freezer safe container and freeze up to 3 months.
